AFTERSCHOOL ROCKSTAR*

AFTERSCHOOL ROCKSTAR* is a TEKS-based enrichment class designed for students Pre-K through 6th grade.   It would be a perfect addition to your after school program, summer camp, or child care center.  We encourage creativity and promote confidence in children while having tons of FUN!  The class can be six sessions, twelve sessions, or a semester-long experience and each session should be 1 to 2 hours in length. 

Each class contains a TEKS-based educational component in both Language Arts and Music.  We engage students with active learning strategies and we also teach social skills while trying to reach individual educational and performance goals.   Students in all three sections will keep a ROCKSTAR JOURNAL, learn music terminology, and study different genres within music.  They will have karaoke performing time within each class, which is an exercise in reading as well as performing!   Each class will also have a ROCKSTAR game, activity, or craft appropriate for their age group.  Our students will learn and practice exceptional audience etiquette.  They will set goals, accomplish them, and then receive incentives for their accomplishments!

PRESCHOOL ROCKSTAR* -  (UNLIMITED SESSIONS) – Preschoolers get an introduction to performing in front of others, practice audience etiquette, and have tons of FUN in this hour long class!  They will practice reading, writing, and rhyming.  In each class, students  will create ROCKSTAR* crafts using a variety of media and have a ROCKSTAR* game or activity.   Little ROCKSTARS* will  record their own CD and will receive a DVD that will include their best performances!  They will get ROCKSTAR*trophy when we go on tour with their final concert! 

AFTERSCHOOL ROCKSTAR* 101 - 6 SESSION COURSE.  Students will learn the basics of performing, conquer stage fright, explore songwriting, practice putting emotion and meaning into their performance, and have tons of FUN!  They will record two take home CD’s and receive a PERSONALIZED MEDAL upon completion. 

AFTERSCHOOL ROCKSTAR* INDIVIDUAL PERFORMING – 6 SESSION COURSE.  This class will focus on individual performing.  Students will improve as they practice, practice, practice and have loads of FUN!  We will concentrate on connecting with your audience and the song, stage presence and usage, and moving to your music.  They will record a take home CD and we will record a take home DVD of their performance.  They will also receive a ROCKSTAR TROPHY upon completion.   

AFTERSCHOOL ROCKSTAR* MAKING THE VIDEO – 6 SESSION COURSE.  This class will focus on performing as a group and incorporate team-building activities.  We will explore the music industry, live out our ROCKSTAR DREAMS and have tons of FUN!  Students will record a take home CD, will write a script, and then shoot a music video DVD.  They will receive a PERSONALIZED TROPHY upon completion.
